Simultaneously, issues such as ethical responsibilities of the surgeon, patient safety, and informed consent are subjects of active debate. The panel presentation will review current data and trends as it relates to multiple-room surgery and discuss potential future policies and their associated implications on practice and patient care. Panelists will also provide practical advice to surgeons on how to discuss issues of overlapping surgery and trainee involvement with patients in a manner that provides transparency and bolsters trust.
