This session will provide an overview of the newly developed AAO-HNSF Clinical Consensus Statement: Ankyloglossia (Tongue-tie) in children. Development of this consensus statement has just started but will be completed by the Annual Meeting. The statements in this document will reflect the expert opinion of a well-versed panel on the diagnosis and treatment options for children with ankyloglossia and will discuss the current evidence.

This session will provide an overview of the newly developed AAO-HNSF Clinical Consensus Statement: Ankyloglossia (Tongue-tie) in children. Development of this consensus statement has just started but will be completed by the Annual Meeting. The statements in this document will reflect the expert opinion of a well-versed panel on the diagnosis and treatment options for children with ankyloglossia and will discuss the current evidence.Learning Objectives: 1. Recognize the incidence and types of ankyloglossia (tongue-tie) in children. 2. Explain the evidence relating ankyloglossia to breastfeeding, speech, and mechanical-social issues. 3.
