The benign subepithelial lesions of the membranous vocal fold are prevalent and reason for debate among otolaryngologists for decades. There are several classifications based on both morphology and phonatory function. There is also debate on which diagnostic methods to use for diagnosis. Debating this question, we could reach a classification that can be simple, objective and uniform. This way, voice care providers (otolaryngologist, speech pathologists, vocal coaches and also patients) will be able to communicate better in daily practice and also in scientific communications and conferences.
