This session will teach techniques of cartilage tympanoplasty based on the instructor's experience in more than 2,000 cases. Emphasis will be on patient selection, surgical technique, outcome, and complication management. The mosaic technique, used with ossicular reconstruction, and the island flap and palisade techniques preferred for the atelectacic ear and recurrent perforations will be discussed.

This session will teach techniques of cartilage tympanoplasty based on the instructor's experience in more than 2,000 cases. Emphasis will be on patient selection, surgical technique, outcome, and complication management. The mosaic technique, used with ossicular reconstruction, and the island flap and palisade techniques preferred for the atelectacic ear and recurrent perforations will be discussed. Learning Objectives: 1. Analyze the surgical decision-making with cartilage tympanoplasty and indications for the different techniques. 2. Apply techniques in cartilage tympanoplasty with regard to graft harvest, prep and placement, with & without ossiculoplasty. 3.
