Despite having limited training as medical educators, Otolaryngologists Head and Neck Surgeons are often asked to serve in teaching roles whether it is training medical students, residents, fellows, colleagues, or advanced practice providers. This panel of experts in medical education will review the latest literature on teaching techniques in the clinic, operating room, small group, and formal didactic lecture settings. Emphasis will be placed on teaching efficiently, effectively, and improving retention of the learner by incorporating different teaching styles. Panelists include experienced Otolaryngologist-educators and a non-Otolaryngologists expert in medical education. The panel will also include case discussions with pearls for successful teaching in different learning environments and difficult teaching situations.
