Facial soft tissue
trauma is a commonly encountered injury that is seen among primary care
providers, emergency room physicians, and head and neck specialists
alike. The complexity of the facial
anatomy, along with the importance of both cosmesis and function make proper
analysis and repair of these injuries exceedingly important. Evaluation, knowledge of the anatomy, and
precise reconstruction of defects are all keys in the approach of treating
facial soft tissue injuries. In this case-based module, common components of
facial soft-tissue trauma will be examined and reviewed.
