Carcinoma Temporal Bone: Step By Step Approach for Better Outcomes (2022 AMW)
2022 AAO-HNSF Annual Meeting & OTO Experience
The management of stage I-III carcinoma temporal bone yields good outcome in majority of patients. In stage IV lesions the treatment protocols are guided by disease extent and anticipated complications due to involvement/proximity of vital structures. Knowledge of factor specific survival outcomes defines the final plan of management. The presenters would discuss in a step wise manner anatomical considerations, radio-logical evaluation and pathological considerations. Case based interactive discussion on the type of approaches employed, anticipated complications, management of complications like ICA bleeding, CSF otorrhoea etc. and tips for avoiding complications shall be discussed. The objective is to create awareness in the audience about the factor specific survival outcomes which need to be considered to decide on the best possible management protocol.
