Endoscopic Management of Cholesteatoma: Clinical Cases, Decisions and Operative Techniques (2022 AMW) Evaluation
2022 AAO-HNSF Annual Meeting & OTO Experience
This prospective, international and multicenter cohort study runs in several Latin American countries: Ecuador, Brazil, Colombia, Uruguay, Mexico, and Peru. The vision of this collaborative study is to conduct research, education, and training projects to improve thyroid cancer patient-centered care. The incidence of thyroid cancer is increasing worldwide. A third of new thyroid cancer cases are papillary thyroid microcarcinoma. These tumors are primarily indolent with an excellent prognosis. Although thyroid surgery is the most common management option for patients with papillary thyroid microcarcinoma (PTM), new management options such as active surveillance and minimally invasive procedures demand individualized treatment decisions based on the patient's preference context and biology. There is no data registry for Latin American patients with thyroid cancer. Furthermore, there are no prognostic models for developing new distant metastases.
