Management of Pediatric Chronic Rhinosinusitis (2022 AMW)
2022 AAO-HNSF Annual Meeting & OTO Experience
Pediatric chronic rhinosinusitis (PCRS) affects roughly 8% of children and accounts for 5.6 million outpatient visit per annum in the United States. However, there is a lack of consensus regarding many aspects of PCRS including the workup and management of this common condition. In fact, a recent study assessing practice patterns among members of the two organizations most likely to treat PCRS: the American Rhinologic Society (ARS) and American Society of Pediatric Otolaryngology (ASPO) revealed differences in both medical and surgical practice patterns. This panel seeks to gain insight from both rhinologists and pediatric otolaryngologists as to the state of the art in workup and management of the patient with PCRS.
