Adentonsillectomy is the second most common surgery in children under 13 years of age and OSA/sleep disordered breathing is the most common indication for it to be carried out. Despite this, persistent OSA can occur in 25% to 75% of children after surgery depending on comorbidities. Because management can be confusing and no standard guidelines exist for the management of this condition, the AAO-HNSF convened a panel of experts, nominated by stakeholder organizations, using a published consensus methodology to develop consensus statements regarding management for children from 2 to 18 years of age. A systematic review of the literature was used as a basis for the clinical statements and a modified Delphi method was used to distill expert opinion and compose statements. We will present our results grouped into 7 categories: general, patient assessment, management of patients with obesity, medical management, drug-induced sleep endoscopy, surgical management, and postoperative care.
