This session will have a senior presenter who has shared evolving content on this subject since 2012, but also include a new presenter who will share real-life experience and perspective especially relevant to younger otolaryngologists who are currently experiencing immense challenges amidst the ongoing pandemic. This session aims to have attendees reflect and understand burnout occurring ONLY in the occupational context, separate the historical internalization of health system failures that are not fixable by individual physicians. Instead, presenters aim to help attendees recognize the critical need for change in perspective, identify blindspots, unhealthy inner narratives, and commit to actions necessary to mitigate worsening impact on physical and mental health, personal relationships, and achieve wellbeing with career/life fulfillment.
