Controversies in Adult Drug-Induced Sleep Endoscopy: A Pro and Con Debate (2023 AMW)
2023 AAO-HNSF Annual Meeting & OTO Experience
Drug induced sleep endoscopy is a commonly performed procedure and is often used to determine candidacy for sleep surgeries, especially hypoglossal nerve stimulation. Studies assessing the ability of drug induced sleep endoscopy to improve surgical outcomes have produced varied results. A panel of sleep surgery experts, all of whom have published extensively on drug induced sleep endoscopy and sleep apnea surgery, will debate some contemporary and controversial topics including: should drug induced sleep endoscopy be performed before all sleep surgery? should drug induced sleep endoscopy be required before hypoglossal nerve stimulation surgery? should additional maneuvers be performed routinely during drug induced sleep endoscopy? Join us for this interactive debate!
