Larynx Preservation in T2 Glottic Cancer (2023 AMW)
2023 AAO-HNSF Annual Meeting & OTO Experience
T2 glottic carcinomas may be treated with conservative surgery or radiotherapy. The aim of treatment is cure and laryngeal voice preservation. Both surgery and irradiation are equally effective in its treatment, however, among patients who had undergone radiation therapy that presente local recurrence, the salvage approach is more prone to be total laryngectomy, thus, with lower rates of larynx preservation. On the other hand, voice uses to be better in patients treated by irradiation than in those treated by surgery.
