Lasers in Otolaryngology and Facial Plastic Surgery: Unlock the Mystery (2023 AMW)
2023 AAO-HNSF Annual Meeting & OTO Experience
The ever-increasing array of lasers and light emitting devices (LEDs) confronts trainees and experienced practitioners with confusing technical jargon. We present a simplified yet accurate account of these devices in order to unlock the mysteries surrounding this technology.
We will emphasize the clinical aspects of light-tissue interaction. The course will categorize the devices according to their respective targets (vascular, pigmented, rhytids, etc.) and how to choose the best device for each scenario. Further, practitioners will be able to understand the end-point tissue effect and not rely on the use of memorized parameters. The attendee will also come away with an overall understanding of the technical basics of lasers and light emitting devices.
