Pediatric Snoring and OSA Update 2023 (2023 AMW)
2023 AAO-HNSF Annual Meeting & OTO Experience
In recent years, obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) has been increasingly recognized as a serious health problem in children. As such, there has been exponential growth in the number of research studies published regarding the field of pediatric OSA. It can be difficult for providers to stay current with the literature since studies are published in the journals of numerous different disciplines including pulmonary, neurology, otolaryngology, and psychology. To provide the best care to pediatric patients presenting with OSA, otolaryngologists must be familiar with the most up-to-date management options. Each year the co-presenters of this course perform an extensive literature search to identify the most important articles published on pediatric snoring and OSA in the past 12 months. We provide commentary and highlight findings from studies that pertain to the entire spectrum of OSA in children including evaluation, surgical and non-surgical treatment, and sequelae.
