Trauma Face-Off: Current Controversies in Maxillofacial Trauma (2023 AMW)
2023 AAO-HNSF Annual Meeting & OTO Experience
The management of maxillofacial trauma is complex, and in many cases, definitive best practices are lacking for many situations. In addition, care of the maxillofacial trauma patient has continued to evolve with the introduction of emerging technology, such as endoscopes and computer-aided design and manufacturing. In this debate-style format, experienced facial trauma surgeons will discuss the current evidence and their preferred methodology when approaching challenging facial trauma cases. Using the polling system, audience members will decide on the most persuasive presenter. Additional discussions on the nuances in certain facial trauma scenarios will help reduce uncertainty in management protocols and improve the perioperative decision-making for attendees. Concepts that will be explored include approaches to subcondylar fractures, management of the frontal sinus fracture and necessity for single versus multipoint fixation in zygomaticomaxillary complex fractures. Join us as we highlight the experts’ perspectives to resolve some of the current controversies in maxillofacial trauma.
