PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: Program Description: Given the sheer volume of annual publications, it is difficult to remain up to date in evidence-based otolaryngology. This course will summarize the key literature in the fields of Head and Neck, Laryngology, Otology/Neurotology, including randomized trials, systematic reviews, and clinical practice guidelines, and other important evidence based updates. Participants will be able to update current clinical knowledge and improve their patient’s quality of care. This mini-seminar is presented in collaboration with the General Otolaryngology and Sleep Education Committee and the Outcomes Research and Evidence Based Medicine Committee.OUTCOME OBJECTIVE 1: 1. Identify key evidence-based medicine (including randomized trials, systematic reviews, and clinical practice guidelines) within the topics of Head and Neck, Laryngology, Otology/Neurotology.OUTCOME OBJECTIVE 2: 2. Utilize the presented evidence-based information to increase current knowledge in clinical practice.OUTCOME OBJECTIVE 3: 3. Integrate evidence-based information into clinical practice to improve patient outcomes.BACKGROUND STATEMENT: This presentation has been previously highly rated and presented in conjunction with 2 Academy committees (GOSEC and OREBMC). The session will provide focused content for general otolaryngologists so they can save time reviewing the literature.
