PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: This panel is a rapid fire/quick shot session that will cover ten hot topics related to head and neck surgical oncology. Our goal is to quickly cover a diverse set of recent practice changing clinical trials that are important for decision making in tumor boards. This panel will cover major developments across a diverse range of head and neck cancers. This is intended for trainees or general otolaryngologists. The topics covered will include neoadjuvant versus adjuvant immunotherapy for cutaneous malignancies, changes in adjuvant therapy for HPV-associated cancers, molecular surveillance for HPV-associated cancers, and genetic testing for various head and neck cancers.OUTCOME OBJECTIVE 1: Understand how to integrate surgery with adjuvant or neoadjuvant therapy based on recent clinical trialsOUTCOME OBJECTIVE 2: Recognize the role of circulating tumor DNA testing in routine clinical practiceOUTCOME OBJECTIVE 3: Understand roles of genetic testing in clinical practice of various head and neck cancersBACKGROUND STATEMENT: With the explosion of molecular advances, immunotherapy and targeted agents in the treatment of various different types of head and neck there is rapidly emerging data regarding effective incorporation in treatment. We will review a number of recent landmark clinical trials.
