Understanding Practice Vitals: Metrics to Maximize Success (2023 AMW) Session
2023 AAO-HNSF Annual Meeting & OTO Experience
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: Being able to assess the health of your practice is critical to the ongoing success of physicians throughout the various models of clinical practice in Otolaryngology. The use of thoughtfully targeted metrics can examine success in areas such as clinical care, marketing, patient satisfaction, financial strength, and business development. These tools offer the physician objective data to assess their areas of strength and weakness, allowing them to effectively focus their limited resources on targeted areas. The panel will focus on measures and metrics related to an individual physician's practice as well as those assessing practice-wide health. Aimed at physicians throughout the spectrum of practice, there will be valuable lessons for physicians just starting out through those looking to optimize an already established practice. This session is expected to be highly interactive and with an opportunity for participants to share their own favorite metrics and how they have used them to grow their practice.OUTCOME OBJECTIVE 1: Attendees should be able to identify the categories of metrics available to support the clinical care and business operations of their practice.OUTCOME OBJECTIVE 2: Attendees should be able to recognize how the analysis of the appropriate metrics can assist in identifying and maximizing opportunities for the successful growth of their practice.OUTCOME OBJECTIVE 3: Attendees should be able to analyze their current practice and make meaningful changes to improve their delivery of care and the financial stability of their practice.BACKGROUND STATEMENT: With the increasing complexity of health care, the rising costs of practicing medicine, and the strain of fulfilling multiple roles in medical practice, this panel's goal is to help physicians maximize the benefits of their efforts through the use of targeted metrics.
