PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: The handicap secondary to single sided deafness (SSD) was underestimated and is still not appreciated by many medical professionals. Mostpatients with SSD end up unaware of their options. Such rehabilitation options evolved over the past decade. The goal of this presentation is todiscuss rehabilitation options available to patients with SSD including, bone anchored hearing aids, Bone Bridge and cochlear implants.OUTCOME OBJECTIVE 1: To be aware of the handicap perceived by patients with SSDOUTCOME OBJECTIVE 2: To understand indications for various surgical options to rehabilitate patients with SSD.OUTCOME OBJECTIVE 3: To compare benefits of different surgical device options available to patients withSSD.BACKGROUND STATEMENT: A lot of physicians including some general Otolaryngologists are unaware of the available rehabilitation options for patients with SSD leavingthem unaided. Such presentation would play in role in increasing awareness of such options
