PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: Sinus surgery is one of the most common procedures performed by otolaryngologists, and as technologies have developed that allow the surgery to be done faster, and dependence on navigation has increased, the risk of complications has also unfortunately increased. This course gives practical tips and tricks on how to avoid these complications, whether large or small, during every step of your surgical dissection and will help you have a successful surgical outcome every time.OUTCOME OBJECTIVE 1: Recognize the most meaningful landmarks for determining the safe borders of endoscopic sinus surgery.OUTCOME OBJECTIVE 2: Compare outcomes of imprecise or incomplete sinus surgery with precise and complete sinus surgery.OUTCOME OBJECTIVE 3: Implement elegant, precise surgical dissection to avoid complications and obtain excellent surgical outcomes in any endoscopic sinus surgery.BACKGROUND STATEMENT: Dr. Gray and Dr. Patel have both published/lectured extensively on this topic, teach residents these techniques, and are considered global experts in this topic (the first Global Grand Rounds by the AAOHNS had them presenting on this topic, a presentation garnering international praise.)
