Outcome Objectives
At the completion of this activity, participants will be able to:
1. Evaluate a patient with dysphonia.
2. Describe the proper use and interpretation of stroboscopic findings.
3. Interpret the histology and explain the role of voice use patterns in the etiology of benign, non-neoplastic vocal fold lesions.
4. Classify the development of an integrated multidisciplinary treatment plan that appropriately includes vocal behavior modification, medical management, and surgical therapy for the dysphonic patient.
5. Describe the role of vocal behavior modification in the long-term management of patients with dysphonia not secondary to malignancy.
6. Identify indications for surgical intervention and appropriate contemporary surgical techniques in the treatment of laryngeal disease.
