Completion of this course will enable the participant to assess his/her knowledge of the evaluation and management of the patient with dysphonia. Topics that will be covered include:
- Evaluating a patient with dysphonia
- Describing the proper use and interpretation of stroboscopic findings
- Interpreting the histology and explain the role of voice use patterns in the etiology of benign, non-neoplastic vocal fold lesions
- Classifying the development of an integrated multidisciplinary treatment plan that appropriately includes vocal behavior modification, medical management, and surgical therapy for the dysphonic patient
- Describing the role of vocal behavior modification in the long-term management of patients with dysphonia not secondary to malignancy
- Identifying indications for surgical intervention and appropriate contemporary surgical techniques in the treatment of laryngeal disease
