From cerumen disimpaction to the most complex tympanoplasty with mastoidectomy, proper coding and the language to support it is rarely discussed and taught during residency or fellowship training. This course is designed to provide a solid foundation for reporting the correct CPT codes related to otology both in clinic and operating room. The nuances of documentation necessary for the most common operations are discussed along with the basics of E&M coding and clinic procedures.
Description
Learning Objective: 1. Use the appropriate E&M code for clinic visit and the procedures done during the visit using the new guidelines from the CMS in 2021. 2. Be better prepared to respond to denials of services with unlisted codes. 3. Identify the correct CPT code for common otologic operations and use the proper language to support it.
