Patients with cleft lip and/or palate are commonly encountered in both general ENT practices as well as subspecialty clinics. As such, a familiarity with the etiology, common problems and recommended management should be a component of every ENT's practice. This lecture will cover the comprehensive care of clefts with a focus on those things encountered in private practice and what can be handled by any well-trained ENT and what should be referred for subspecialty care.

Learning Objective: 1. Become aware of the etiology and different manifestations of cleft lip & palate. 2. Identify the current medical literature on the otolaryngic management of clefts. 3. Understand the common ENT challenges found in patients with cleft lip &/or palate. Become familiar with cleft diagnosis and management.
