Exploring Pediatric Sinusitis: Updates in the Management of Pediatric Sinusitis (AMW)

The goal of this panel presentation is to address challenges facing the otolaryngologist managing pediatric rhinosinusitis and provide an evidence-based update in the care of this disease process. Through case-based discussions with practicing pediatric otolaryngologists and rhinologists, the panelists will discuss patient care challenges, review the current evidence, and debate areas of controversy in: 1) Medical and surgical management of pediatric rhinitis: What to do with the stuffy, snotty nose after adenoidectomy when the CT is clear? 2) Pediatric rhinosinusitis and its medical and surgical management with special focus on a) the use of biologics in pediatric rhinosinusitis: patient selection, timing, risks; b) the role of allergy evaluation; c) management of special populations including patients with cystic fibrosis and those in an immunocompromised state. 3) Pediatric complicated sinusitis and the management of orbital and intracranial complications of acute sinusitis.
