Head & Neck Hemangiomas and Vascular Malformations: Diagnosis and Treatment (AMW)

This expert lecture focuses on Vascular Anomalies. The attendee will learn how to correctly diagnose Congenital and Infantile Hemangiomas, Capillary, Lymphatic, Venous and Arteriovenous Malformations. It will be shown, in the littlest detail, the role of Ultrasonography, CT scans, Angiography and MRI. This last will be discussed with specific attention to be able to read dynamic studies (DWI, ADC, Time Resolved Contrast Kinetics, among others). For each type of Vascular Anomaly, it will be provided an overview on the state of the art in treatment. Specifically it will be shown: which kind of laser is best to use and how to use it; what is the role of sclerotherapy and which sclerosant is the ideal one and how it should be prepared and injected; how an AVM should be approached based on the newest literature and staging systems; when and how to prefer surgery to cure or improve each single type of vascular anomaly.st suited to study that specific vascular anomaly.
