How to Interpret and Prepare a High Quality Systematic Review (AMW)
2021 AAO-HNSF Annual Meeting & OTO Experience
Systematic reviews are the most widely cited type of published article across all aspects of medicine. This has wide implications, and such reviews are useful for everyday patient care, health policy formulation, guideline development and research proposals. The best clinicians understand how to use ‘best evidence’ from systematic reviews that locate, appraise, and synthesize evidence from primary research. The gold-standard for systematic reviews is set by the Cochrane Collaboration and the reviews published in the Cochrane Library. Two editors of the Cochrane Ear, Nose & Throat Disorders Group, which produces the ENT reviews for that publication, teach this course. Course participants will be able to enhance their clinical practice having learnt to read, interpret, and create a Cochrane review.
