Integrative Approach to Tinnitus (AMW) Session

After a brief review pathophysiologic concepts in the development of tinnitus, we will present a comprehensive review of the latest trends in treating tinnitus with focus on an integrative approach. Evidence based treatment options such as the use supplements, body-mind techniques, electromagnetic brain stimulation, cognitive behavior therapies are discussed. Various options of maskers, sound generators, and sound therapies are presented by one of our tinnitus audiologists. As there is not one fits all way, we will guide the listeners through a stepwise treatment algorithm in managing each patient based on their individual needs.

Learning Objective: 1. Listener will gain an understanding of what happens when tinnitus becomes an unmanageable symptoms. 2. Listeners will learn about different modalities as potential treatment options. 3. The panelist will give the treating physicians tools how to manage patients effectively through individualized algorithm.
