Otolaryngologists can provide comprehensive medical and surgical treatment for OSA. This course will teach the indications and principles of application of oral appliances for OSA. Using didactic and hands-on instruction, this course will provide the practical basis required for beginning oral appliance therapy and will enhance knowledge of this modality. Assessment criteria and methods for patient selection, reimbursement and coding will be reviewed. Highly experienced course leaders will demonstrate thermoplastic appliance production and participants will have the opportunity to fit appliances themselves.

Learning Objective: 1. Evaluate the current evidence and knowledge gaps for opioid and multi-modal non-opioid postoperative pain management strategies. 2. Implement evidence based strategies to reduce opioid use while effectively managing pain after otolaryngology procedures. 3. Apply safe practices when prescribing opioids and caring for patients taking opioids.
