Recognition and Remedying Microaggressions in the Workplace: Building Better Diversity (AMW)

A working definition of microaggressions is “brief and commonplace daily verbal, behavioral, and environmental indignities, whether intentional or unintentional, that communicate hostile, derogatory, or negative slights and insults to marginalized individuals and groups." Even if unintentional, this behavior produces harm and undermines healthy work community. This course is to help clinicians identify and address microaggression not only is a "safe" space but learning how to foster brave spaces. The panel will discuss personal histories with micro-aggressions and offer advice about hot to remedy this workplace and societal illness.
