2021 AAO-HNSF Annual Meeting & OTO Experience
This case-based Expert Lecture will take the audience through common and not-so-common presentations of sensorineural hearing loss in children. An emphasis will be placed on the key basics of appropriate initial workup, evidence-based management, and appropriate interventions for home and school. Cutting edge topics such as optimal protocols for CMV testing and treatment and the evolving indications for cochlear implantation will also be included. This course is intended for all otolaryngologists that care for children regardless of level of expertise with pediatric hearing loss. Participants should expect to leave this session with an understanding of the critical steps in diagnosing hearing loss, determining its etiology, assessing for comorbid conditions and syndromes, and initiating optimal management.
