Chronic otitis media remains to be prevalent despite advances in medical knowledge and improved medical care. This panel presentation will focus on updates in the diagnosis and management of chronic otitis media including cholesteatoma. Medical and surgical management of chronic ear disease will be reviewed. Different surgical approaches including endoscopic ear surgery will also be discussed. Case presentations will be used to illustrate surgical decision making in complicated cases.

Examine different surgical approaches including endoscopic ear surgery in the management of chronic ear. 3. Demonstrate some controversies in the surgical decision making in complicated cholesteatoma cases.
