Difficult Airway Management: The Otolaryngologist's Role (AMW)
2021 AAO-HNSF Annual Meeting & OTO Experience
Otolaryngologists in practice are often confronted with challenging airway management scenarios often in ambulatory surgical centers. These are frequently patients that initially present to and are to undergo surgery by the practitioner. As otolaryngologists, we have a unique skill set that may be applied to airway management. The goal of this session is to provide the attendee with a framework and algorithms that may be utilized to recognize patients with potentially challenging airways and to familiarize them with the various tools available to them that may be applied to the management of this patient population. A case-based presentation with interspersed audience response questions will be provided.
