External Ear Disease and the Draining Ear (AMW)
2021 AAO-HNSF Annual Meeting & OTO Experience
Chronic otorrhea, arising from either a middle ear or external ear source, is a common problem for many patients and a common reason for patients to seek an otolaryngologist. This session will review common and unusual diseases of the external and middle ear. We will present a comprehensive and cost-effective work up algorithm for patients with chronic otorrhea. We will review currently approved FDA medications that may be used for chronic otorrhea. Unconventional treatments, including topical powders, will also be discussed. Literature supporting non-FDA approved therapies will be presented alongside clinical examples.
