Forewarned is forearmed. If you operate, you will get complications. Good judgement comes from experience and experience comes from poor judgement. In this course, we hope to present the collective experience of the House Group's many surgeons' experience treating and dealing with complications. This course will review complications associated with otologic surgery. The goal of the course is to provide practical solutions for the otologic surgeon so they will be prepared and have a game plan if/when such a complication may occur. We will review techniques that can reduce the risk of completions. We will review all aspects of otologic surgery including simple procedures to more complex lateral skull base surgery. We will review the legal aspect of complications and present treatment plans for best practices in this area.
